
Robin Rogers, MFA '08, and Julia Rogers, BFA '08, have created a line of inexpensive, hand-blown and hand-painted glass ornaments (Robin is pictured, right). They had a lot of fun coming up with the new color combinations and Wren, who is five now, loves to help pack them up for shipping. The ornaments are available on their website at http://www.nomadicglass.com/ornaments.html. Robin and Julia are in Bowling Green, OH. Julia will graduate with her MFA in the spring and then they are uncertain where the wind will blow them.
Bill Costantino, BFA '09, Communication Design, was hired by Schawk as a creative director/graphic designer.

John Medwedeff, MFA '91, BFA '86, designed the Sculptural Pavilion in Murphysboro, IL. The image, left, is a one of the panels being lifted from the truck by the crew from the Zahner Company. Joseph Mannino, MFA '74, exhibits his photography at the Mattress Factory, Pittsburgh, PA, October 10, 2009-March 21 2010. "Mannino sees the process of documenting individuals through photographs, using gestures and words, as an extension of his earlier sculptural work, when he began to investigate the use of language as a tool of ideology, and as a component of one’s identity and likeness."

Molly Alter, MFA '08, has work in two national juried competitions, the Topeka Competition 29, Topeka, KS, November 6, 2009- January 6, 2010, and "Generously Odd: Craft Now" at the Lexington Art League, Lexington, KY, October 23, 2009- January 10, 2010.

David Linneweh, MFA '07 is working as an Adjunct Instructor at the College of Dupage. He is in a group show, "Environs," at Eastern Oregon University's Nightingale Gallery. Additionally, he recently learned that his work will be included in the Spring 2010 edition of Studio Visit Magazine, juried by Steven Zevitas, publisher of New American Paintings and Director of the Steven Zevitas Gallery.
Shelby Shadwell, MFA '06, assistant professor of art
(drawing) at the University of Wyoming at Laramie, is one of two artists
featured in "True West," a show in Santa Fe, NM, that presents visions of
a contemporary West. Shadwell's background is in printmaking, but he says
he's gravitated more towards drawing as a medium, especially charcoal and
erasers on paper.

Luca Cruzat, MFA '06, exhibits her work at the Ethical Society Gallery in St. Louis, located a couple blocks west of Saint Louis Galleria mall on Clayton Road. Her show, "Intuitions," runs from September 17-October 27, 2009.
Siona Benjamin, MFA '89 , exhibits her work in the solo show, "Blue Like Me: the Art of Siona Benjamin." Her work is on exhibit at the Ann Loeb Bronfman Gallery at the Washington DCJCC from October 15, 2009-January 29, 2010.
Siona also
has work in "A Complex Weave: Women and Identity in Contemporary Art." This traveling exhibition of 16 women artists will begin its tour at the Stedman Gallery at Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts.

Benjamin Cowden, MFA '07, is pleased to announce the release of his first edition piece, Manifold Ballast (pictured right), a small kinetic sculpture featuring a flywheel, a lever & bellcrank actuator, and a geared-down second axle which carries a small figure in a spinning orbit around the upper half of the machine. There will be ten of these pieces, each with several interchangeable figures. You can see more images and video on Benjamin's website, www.twentysevengears.com.
Barbara Bondy, MFA '03, received tenure and promotion to Associate Professor this year at Auburn University. Additionally, Barb has been named the Daniel F. Breeden Eminent Scholar Chair for the Humanities.

Chuck Daugherty, BA '66, Design, of Carbondale, has a new exhibit "Faces and Places," of photos taken from around the world. "It was intended that all artistic photography for this show contain subtleties that differentiate them from typical snapshots." His work is on display at Central Showcase at Realty Central, Murdale Shopping Center, Carbondale, IL from September 8-October 17. A Reception will be held Friday, September 18 from 4-6 pm. The artwork of Joseph S. Mannino, MFA '74, is among the creations of seven artists on display in a group exhibition at the Mattress Factory, a museum of contemporary art in Pittsburgh, PA. Entitled "Likeness," the exhibition aims to examine "human depiction during a post-Warholian era in which new technology has played an influential role." The works of Mannino, an associate professor of art at Carnegie Mellon University have been widely exhibited, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Bridget Parris, BFA '91, has work, "We All Burn Down Together" (pictured right) in a group exhibition at The Chair and the Maiden Gallery, New York City, in September.

Kyoung Hwa Oh, MFA '08, Ceramics, had work acceped into the "17th Annual Strictly Functional Pottery National " one of the largest competitions in the US. The exhibition is being held at Kevin Lehman's Studio in Lancaster, PA, Sept. 26-Oct. 25.

KyoungHwa also has work in the "Wichita National All Media Craft Exhibition 2009" at the Wichita Center for the Arts in Kansas, Sept. 4-Oct. 18.

Robin Rogers, MFA '08, Glass, has a new interactive installation work in St. Louis at Third Degree Glass Factory. "Collective Unconscious" will open Friday, August 21, 6-10 p.m. and the show will run through September 15.
